Temporary Full Time (Approximately February 7, 2022 to August 14, 2022; may end sooner/may be extended)

SALARY: $18.00/hour

 

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Reporting to the Manager of Health Information, the successful applicant will assist with Health Information projects as assigned, gaining experience in the Health Information Management profession. There may be opportunities to work with and job shadow various positions including Clerk, Health Information Management Professionals and Transcriptionists, and also participate in continuous improvement projects as per our lean methodologies.

The successful applicant must have the ability to pull patient records by terminal digit order, work independently or as a team following STEGH 's Records Retention and Destruction Policy and Privacy Policy. This role will also include lifting, moving, destroying and boxing of patient records in a basement file room.

 

HOURS:

The successful candidate must be available to work all shifts applicable. Typical coverage is required Monday through Friday, though some flexibility may be required to meet operational needs as required by the hospital.

 

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

  • Minimum one (1) year completed in a post-secondary program in Health Information Management, Healthcare/Office Administration or other related field.
  • Knowledge of alpha and terminal digit filing systems
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently or as a team following STEGH 's Records Retention and Destruction Policy and Privacy Policy
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Physical ability to complete assigned duties. This role will include lifting, moving, destroying and boxing of patient records
  • Demonstrated acceptable previous performance reflective of STEGH's Mission, Vision, Values and Code of Conduct.
  • Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis in accordance with STEGH’s Attendance at Work Program.

Successful candidates must provide evidence of a fully completed COVID-19 vaccination status prior to your first day of work
