Education Coordinator (Registered Nurse) Temporary Part-Time 
(For up to approximately April 1, 2020 with possible extension)

Our Hospital and Nursing Home are located in the Town of Arnprior, less than 30 minutes northwest of Ottawa.
There are approximately 320 staff, 200 volunteers, and a growing number of medical staff providing exemplary care to over 30,000 residents of West Ottawa, McNab/Braeside, Arnprior and portions of Mississippi Mills. We currently have an opportunity available for a Temporary Part-Time Education Coordinator (0.4 FTE) for up to approximately April 1, 2020 with possible extension.

This position, which reports to the Vice President of Patient/Resident Services & CNE, will administer the Education for the Corporation including, but not limited to the following:

  • Administering the clinical, corporate and post-leave orientation programs

  • Developing and Coordinating education and in-service programs for staff, volunteers and

    physicians (i.e. Corporate Orientation, Nursing Orientation, Emergency Preparedness/Mock

    Disasters, etc.)

  • Maintains and updates records of staff training and communicates follow up where required

  • Conducts mandatory annual training as needed.

  • Developing and updating applicable and related policies and procedures

  • Acts as a resource person to staff, physicians and volunteers

  • Integral member of the Nursing Professional Practice Team.

  • Keeps up-to-date with clinical advanced and quality based procedure best practices.

  • Participates as a member of the Leadership team and develops goals and action plan programs

    accordingly

  • Financial management component to review monthly budgets and perform variance analysis


Qualifications:

  • Registered Nurse in good standing with the Colleges of Nurses of Ontario

  • BScN, Master’s degree preferred

  • Minimum 2 years nursing experience in medical or surgical or critical care required

  • CPR, CPI, ACLS trainer certification preferred

  • Knowledge and / or experience of adult education theory and various teaching methodologies

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

  • Proficient with a variety of computer applications including Word, Excel, Power Point

  • Hands on experience using the Meditech electronic health record is considered an asset
