NOTICE OF VACANCY
POSITION: BED ALLOCATOR – PATIENT FLOW
Primarily Stratford Site
Regular Part-time
(Shifts: 12-hours, 24-hour coverage, 7 days/week. May be subject to change)
POSITION SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Manager, Patient Flow, the Bed Allocator will act as a liaison between admitting and receiving parties, and be responsible for coordinating room utilization based on patient care requirements.
REPORTS TO: Manager, Patient Flow and Nursing Practice
DATE REQUIRED: As soon as possible
SALARY: $22.75 to $24.10 per hour
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- Completion of High School Diploma required
- Completion of one year community college Medical Office Administrative Assistant diploma
Experience:
- Up to six months previous clerical experience essential
- Previous Meditech experience preferred
- Knowledge of HPHA bed resources preferred
- Basic understanding of HPHA infection control practices
Abilities:
- Excellent computer and communication skills, including patient registration tools, Outlook and Excel
- Highly developed ability to organize
- Excellent interpersonal and verbal skills
- Excellent strategy and prioritization skills
- Emphasis on communication abilities
- Customer relation skills an asset
- Ability to work in an inter-professional environment
- Multi-tasking while under pressure
- Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis
Physical Demands:
- Frequent interruptions
- Ability to juggle competing demands
- Office Environment - lengthy periods of sitting with occasional walking/standing
