POSITION: Care Attendant
Ritz Lutheran Villa/Mitchell Nursing Home

POSITION SUMMARY: Reporting to the Director of Care, the Care Attendant is a valued member of the nursing team and is assigned to work with the nursing staff; housekeeping staff; dietary staff; and program staff to provide support to residents and residents care staff.

REPORTS TO: Director of Care

DATE REQUIRED: As Soon As Possible

SALARY: $18.10 to $19.35 per hour

Job Demands: By applying for this job, you acknowledge an understanding the regular requirements and demands of this job include (but are not limited to):
- Regularly lift/move objects/supplies and frequent standing and walking
- Regularly requires a variety of body movement including bending, kneeling and stretching and pushing and pulling
- Visual monitoring and higher than normal levels of attentiveness and attention to health and safety of others is required on the provision of all forms of care

Responsibilities
- Porter residents to and from meals.
- Deals tactfully and courteously with residents, residents’ family, visitors and staff.
- Assists in maintaining a physical and psycho-social environment which meets the needs of the residents.
- Assists in maintain adequate standards of cleanliness.
- Answers call bells and follows-up with nursing staff for residents requiring/requesting direct care assistance.
- Assists staff with mechanical lift transfers as the second person.
- Assists in dining/cafeteria with meal/feeding/tray service as delegated by registered staff.
-Other duties that may be assigned by RN Nurse Manager

Abilities
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written
- Ability to adapt to changing environment
- Good Interpersonal Skills
