POSITION: MANAGER, District Stroke Centre
Full-Time

POSITION SUMMARY: The Manager, District Stroke Centre is responsible for the management of the District Stroke Centre, including the Secondary Stroke Prevention Clinic (SSPC), and the Specialized Community Stroke Rehabilitation Team (CSRT) ensuring quality patient care and competent, safe practice. The Manager provides leadership to facilitate and coordinate a system of integrated stroke care, for the designated stroke district (Huron and Perth counties) within the regional stroke network (Southwestern Ontario Stroke Network), across the continuum of care. The Manager, collaborates with providers and stakeholders in the district stroke network to achieve the district's work plan and support implementation of the regional work plan and priorities, and advance the vision, mission and strategic directions for the Ontario Stroke Network. The Manager fosters and maintains strong relationships with stakeholders across the stroke continuum at the provincial, regional, district and community levels. The Manager engages and collaborates with a wide range of stakeholders, establishing and maintaining partnerships and linkages that support effective stroke care for patients, families and caregivers.

REPORTS TO: Director, Patient Care

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: - A member of a Regulated Health Profession in good standing with their respective College

Experience: - Recent relevant clinical and managerial experience
- Mastery of Program Planning, Project Management, clinical pathways, utilization, best practice guidelines/standards of practice and Quality Based Procedures as well as other Quality Improvement projects
- Demonstrated knowledge of hyperacute, acute and rehabilitation stroke care best practices
- Experience in both hospital and community service delivery
Abilities:
- Proven management skills including financial, human resources, quality improvement, change management, evaluation, planning and utilization
- Proven flexibility, self-direction and a high degree of initiative-taking
- Demonstrated leadership, inter-professional team building, time management, organizational and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated experience with building working relationships with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, community partners and involvement with integration projects
- Ability to set priorities and work independently
- Proven interpersonal, interviewing, counseling and conflict management/resolution skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated commitment to patient and staff safety and exemplary patient/customer experience
- Demonstrated analytical skills in collection and interpretation of qualitative and quantitative data
- Computer skills, particularly Meditech, MS Office, and/or other software
- Effective presentation skills
- A valid Ontario driver’s license
