THE OPPORTUNITY
As an integral member of the team, the Hospital Coordinator will provide leadership to the organization after-hours. In your role you will support the multidisciplinary team, ensuring safe, quality care for patients and a safe environment for the staff. This will be achieved through your excellent decision making, problem solving and critical thinking skills. You will provide mentoring and guidance to facilitate growth of our team. Your role will be on-site support and leadership as well as on-call support for the organization.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
The ideal candidate will possess the following key competencies, record of experience and academic preparation:
- Current certificate of competence as a Registered Nurse in Ontario required
- BScN or Health Care degree and/or management leadership courses required
- Experience in management/supervisory leadership position required
- Diverse healthcare clinical background required
- Ability to engage and support all hospital staff in carrying out their roles and responsibilities
- Commitment to GBGH Values and Purpose Statement
- Demonstrated strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with physicians, inter-professional team members, and other stakeholders
- Excellent decision-making, and assessment skills
- Excellent critical thinking skills and ability to make decisions under pressure
- Demonstrated ability to build teams and manage change
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Meditech Expanse
- Experience in a unionized environment with knowledge of collective agreements
- Strong client focus with an awareness of and sensitivity to diversity
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization
- Embraces a philosophy of person-centered care while being committed to GBGH’s Values and Purpose Statement
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with strong multi-tasking and prioritizing abilities
- French verbal and written communication skills are considered an asset in this position

WORK HOURS
Permanent Full Time - 37.5 hrs/week. Must be available to work shifts including evenings, nights and weekends and holidays.

- Hourly rate of pay $57.98– 61.52, plus a generous vacation allotment
