The Huron-Perth Centre for Children & Youth is seeking a Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

 

About the Huron Perth Centre:

Huron-Perth Centre is a small but vibrant, accredited community-based organization and the designated Lead Agency for Child & Youth Mental Health providing a range of services including child/youth mental health, youth justice programs, a violence against women counselling service and several purchases of services serving the counties of Huron, Perth and area. The organization, its leadership personnel, professional staff and services are well known and respected locally, regionally and provincially.

The Business Unit is located in Stratford, ON, a thriving small city filled with cultural and artistic opportunities, fine dining and beautiful parks and green space. The organization also has thriving offices in both Clinton and Listowel.

 

About the Position:

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Chief Executive Officer is responsible for the entire range of program services including fund sourcing, operations, strategic planning, budget preparation and monitoring and financial reporting required by the funding sources.

The CEO manages the operations of the Centre with the senior management team consisting of the Clinical Services Managers, Business Manager, Quality Improvement Lead, Occupational Health & Safety Manager, Executive Assistant, and any purchase of service agreements who report directly to the CEO.  The CEO oversees the hiring of staff, as needed and professional consultants. The CEO will lead the management team, offering consultation, supervision and annual performance reviews The CEO ensures the HPC Board is kept current on all issues and matters relating to the services and the organization.

The CEO, in conjunction with the Clinical Services Managers, recommends program changes, including new services, while developing implementation strategies. The CEO develops major proposals for the approval of the Board and submits to the funding bodies. The CEO is the face of the organization with the broader public and is to carry themselves beyond reproach within the community. The CEO represents the Centre in local, regional, and provincial groups that provide leadership roles. This includes the Huron Perth Addictions and Mental Health Alliance and its related planning/coordinating bodies, the Huron Perth & Area Ontario Health Team (HPA-OHT) and the Lead Agency Consortium, the provincial body of Lead Agencies for Child & Youth Mental Health.

The CEO holds ultimate decision-making responsibility for operational and human resource decisions and seeks consultation with the Board of Directors on matters concerning policy, liability and fiscal responsibility.

 Qualifications and Experience

  • Graduate degree in Social Work or a related field (psychology, healthcare, child development) is required
  • Professional accreditation if possessing a degree for which professional registration is required
  • 10-years related experience in program development and management is preferred
  • Previous leadership and/or supervisory experience is required

  • Demonstrated customer/client service skills
  • Effective communicator, skilled in active listening
  • Knowledge of applicable government regulations, legislation and funding program parameters
  • Clinical skills used to diffuse difficult and/or emotional situations
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a professional, constructive manner
  • Strong personal computer skills
  • Proven leadership and management skills
